We like to scour the net and see what others are saying about local Miami Valley Football. Here are some predictions around town about tonight's Week 2 Game for the Indians!!
--I believe Talawanda will struggle with Carlisle. Monroe put it on Talawanda last week and Carlisle played a very tight defensive struggle game with Franklin. Given Carlisle's scrimmage with Massie and game vs Franklin, I believe Carlisle wins this game easily.

--If things from the past few years hold true for Talawanda then they don't have enough athletes to keep up....especially against a spread offense. Indians should easily get the bad taste out of their mouths from the loss to Franklin.
--Talawanda get crushed 42-0, they are absolutely horrible!!!
--Carlisle will get in the win column this week. I simply think Carlisle played a strong Franklin team well in Week 1 and Talawanda isn't that caliber of team. I would expect Carlisle to win this game easily going away.
-- I wouldn't say "put all over them" It was anyone's game till the 4th. THS is in a young minded self destruction mode is all. They seem to have a good system building, and kids able to play. Just time after time self inflicted wounds keep infecting drive after drive.
I still say if THS used the Thomas kid in areas other than the outside is the key, he's able to put a dagger through the heart of a defense before you know what hit you! The kid would be unreal in Colerains system, 150-160lb ankle breaking speed demon as a 10th grader!! Byrd junior HB is surprisingly agile and quick, so the one-two punch with both in the game together would keep a defense unbalance more than whats going on now.
From what I saw, and the folks Ive spoken to, THS under Coach Vonderhiede is heading in the right direction. Eventually some hearts will have to be broken on a few young men on the defensive side that keep proving to be JV worthy at this point in time. Oxford and THS sports has shown the last 10 yrs they are not willing to make that tough call on a high profile community figures boy or girl though. Good luck there.
As for my prediction. I think THS can score with them, but defensively I think the Braves can't stop CHS's pass game and they light it up through the air. 42-24 CHS. Big 4th Q break down, Braves seem either out of condition, or out of will come the 4th, not sure which. Good luck to both squads, and pray for injury free football this Friday night in HS sports.
Going to be a great game. I guess we will see tonight if the Indians can get the win and move to 1-1 on the season. GO INDIANS!!!
