State Representatives Join Gov. Kasich in Encouraging an Economic Partnership with Israel

COLUMBUS—In an effort to further expand Ohio’s relationship with Israel, State Representatives John Adams (R-Sidney), Peter Beck (R-Mason) and Cliff Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) recently attended a meeting with Governor John Kasich and Israeli Vice Prime Minister Silvan Shalom to develop partnerships between Israeli companies and Ohio companies.

During the meeting, Israeli Minister of Science and Technology Daniel Hershkowitz presented Governor Kasich with a memorandum of understanding to establish a research and development fund to assist the development of business partnerships between Ohio and Israel.

“As a caucus, the House Republicans have worked determinedly to fix Ohio’s economy, create jobs, and promote a better business climate not only for our local businesses but for those worldwide,” said Representative Adams. “Our collaboration with Vice Prime Minister Shalom to closely align Israel and Ohio for a stronger business alliance is just one of the ways we are working to accomplish this goal.”

“We are moving forward with the foundation we established on our trade mission to Israel just nine months ago, and I’m very encouraged by everything that Vice Prime Minister Shalom has done during his time here in Ohio,” said Representative Beck. “I believe that this partnership with Israel will prove to be vital to Ohio’s prosperity as we expand our own businesses, as well as make Ohio attractive to outside markets nationally and globally.”

“Continuing to promote Ohio’s potential and strengthen our businesses through partnerships is a forward-thinking idea that I am honored to have been a part of,” said Representative Rosenberger. “I look forward to maintaining this relationship with the State of Israel and working on similar proposals to repair Ohio’s economy.”

Back in May of 2011, Representatives Adams, Beck and Rosenberger participated in a trade mission to Israel to speak with various company leaders and government officials to encourage investment in Ohio’s industries.
