OHIO ARMY NATIONAL GUARD SOLDIER GRADUATES FROM BASIC TRAINING

Army PVT Scott Drake, a member of the Ohio Army National Guard, has graduated from basic combat training and advanced individual training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. PVT Drake is the son of Gary and Kathy Drake.
During the 20 weeks of training, the Soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises, as well as duties he will be performing as a military policeman.
PVT Drake is being attached to the unit 324th Military Policy Company, out of Middletown. PVT Drake is receiving the National Guard scholarship of 100% paid tuition and is also receiving the Montgomery GI Bill. For information on the National Guard, call 1-800-GOGUARD.
