The due date for Carlisle City taxes has been extended to Monday, April 18th to coincide with this year's federal filing date.

The IRS extended its filing deadline because the District of Columbia will observe Emancipation Day on Friday, April 15th.  The day commerating President Lincoln freeing slaves in the District of Columbia is actually April 16th but will be observed on Friday, April 15th.

The Carlisle Tax Office will extend its normal hours until 6:00 pm on Friday, April 15th and Monday, April 18th to provide assistance to residents who need help filing out their tax forms.

Tax returns and payments can also be placed in the city payment box (located near the parking lot entrance).
