In studying and researching many different items in and around the city we find a wide variety of things we just did not know about Carlisle.  For instance, did you know that it is illegal to have more than 3 dogs in Carlisle?  CHAPTER 1272 Supplementary District Regulations states that "No person shall keep or harbor more than three dogs, excluding puppies less than four months old, in any single-family dwelling, or in any separate suite in a two-family dwelling or apartment dwelling, within the Municipality."

Another interesting law is in CHAPTER 618 Animals and more specifically 618.06     Coloring rabbits and baby poultry; sale or display of poultry.  So those of you looking to color your rabbits and chickens this summer are prohibited from doing so.  If you do feel the urge to color your pet rabbit the result could be...Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree on a first offense; each subsequent offense is a misdemeanor of the third degree.

Another "Did You Know" came in the mail this past week in the City Newsletter.  According to Section 660.13 of the City of Carlisle Code of Ordinances it specifically prohibits disposing grass clippings on the street.  Violators could be charged with a minor misdemeanor and face possible fines.  To read more of the newsletter check it out by clicking here.
