Carlisle entered last night's game with a ton of implications. A win would keep the Indians in a potential share of the SWBL Buckeye Division crown. A win could also seal their fate in making it to the playoffs in the Division IV, Region 16 playoffs for the first time since 2004.
So all our Carlisle Indians did was make a HUGE statement that they deserved both. Our Carlisle Indians hosted the Dixie Greyhounds of New Lebanon, Ohio and beat them 41-12.
The Ground Attack of Nick "The Real Deal" McGill and Jordan "Juke Ya" Jacobs combined for 185 yards rushing and four touchdowns. McGill accounting for 112 yards and two touchdowns. Jake "Gibby" Gibson rushed for a 27 yard touchdown and completed 7-15 passing for 107 yards and a touchdown.
The Defense was awesome again today, holding the Dixie offense down all night and forcing key turnovers. The most important turnover coming as Dixie had a 10 play drive to start the second half before coughing the ball up to the Indians. The very next play McGill took in a romp for a touchdown to create separation in the score box.
Carlisle ended the season with a (8-2, 5-1) record. Monroe Hornets won last night over Northridge and Waynesville Spartans had not trouble with the Madison Mohawks. That leaves all three teams as Tri-Champs of the SWBL.
This week will post the regular season stats and season leaders. Stay tuned!!

Batchelder To Governor: Federal Health Care Will Worsen Ohio’s Budget Situation
COLUMBUS—Ohio House Republican Leader William G. Batchelder (R-Medina) today was joined by his fellow caucus members in signing and delivering a letter to Governor Strickland, regarding their deep concern of the federal government’s universal health care plan.
“Whether or not Ohio adopts Congress’s health care overhaul will be crucial in determining our state's future,” Batchelder said. “Under the federal public option plan, we will see an increase in Medicaid enrollees by more than 27 percent, and with this mandated Medicaid expansion comes skyrocketing costs and less control over our own state assistance programs. The budget is already facing a deficit, and Ohioans certainly do not need more regulations, spending and heavy-handed policies from Washington.”
In the letter, Batchelder and House Republicans outlined growing concerns of the economic consequences of relinquishing control over Ohio's health care to Washington. According to Batchelder, adopting the federal regulations would be extremely damaging to Ohio’s long-term success and budget sustainability.
“While protecting the wellbeing of Ohio’s low-income families, elderly and people with disabilities, we must work to rein in costs to ensure that the program operates in an efficient, cost-effective manner,” Batchelder stated in the letter. “Adopting the universal health care bill in Ohio will further increase Medicaid’s share of the state operating budget and almost certainly guarantee tax increases on hardworking Ohioans and small businesses.”
House Republicans hope to encourage Governor Strickland to join the 17 other governors across the country in resisting adoption of a public option health care plan. They assert that as the state budget continues to face ongoing revenue shortfalls, accepting additional spending mandates from the federal government will punish Ohio’s families and push even more jobs out of our state.
“It is important as our state considers ideas for expanding health coverage for the uninsured that we do so without crippling our state budget or putting our health care industry and the jobs it provides in jeopardy,” Batchelder said. “If Governor Strickland truly hopes to change Ohio's health care system for the better, adopting Washington's inflexible and costly plan is not the best approach.”

Team Prodigy the mixed martial arts and fitness center located in Springboro has only been in for a few years if that. They have a fitness center, offer mixed martial arts classes, and others. They have a full blown cage in their facility for purpose of training. Recently, Jeff Oaks, of Video Oaks Production of Carlisle, went to an event that Prodigy put on. It was an amateur MMA venue that had some seriously good fights. Check it out...
Many of you woke up to a horrid smell that could be smelled all over Carlisle. We received many calls and people asking us what the heck that was. One father said the smell was unbearable from his home in the Earnhart neighborhood. A mother that went to Muffins with Moms at the Primary building said the school was awful outside the school.
Your CREDIT SCORE (Part 2)
**Read Part One Click Here**
A four part series on an insider's guide to credit scoring and home financing. Compliments of Rapid Mortgage, Dominic Gross Loan Officer Springboro, Ohio.
How Does a Low Credit Score Affect My Interest Rate?
Lenders estimate your ability to pay back money based on your credit score. The risk factor they take on is built-in to your interest rate as a financing fee. Therefore, a low credit score results in a higher interest rate, higher monthly fees, and a higher amount of interest being paid over the total life of the loan.
A borrower with a credit score of 620 would be questionable to an underwriter. While the lender may agree to provide financing, the increased interest rate is factored into the monthly payment. (The following chart illustrates the difference in the amount of interest paid over the life of the same loan with three different credit score scenarios.)
A borrower who increases his or her credit score from 620 to 720+ can potentially save $601 per month on mortgage payments, $7,214 per year, and approximately $216,432 over the life of the 30-year loan.*

How Does the Underwriter View My Score?
If you are considering a home purchase, it is in your best interest to make every effort to increase your credit score, especially if you know you have issues you should be dealing with. It is often the case that people are not aware of bad marks on their credit record until they apply for financing for a major purchase, such as a home.

As part of the loan process, we run a credit report for you. But you can take advantage of the opportunity to get a free credit report from each of the three main CRAs: Equifax, Experian® and TransUnion®. As a sidebar, you can choose to get the free report from all three bureaus at the same time, so you are aware of what information each bureau has collected. Another option is to pull your credit report from one agency, and reserve the right to get your free reports from the other two CRAs as you work on improving your credit standing.
We believe it is best to have the full overview up front. Different CRAs have different methods of calculating these scores, and may also have different information contained within their findings. Consider the adage, “Why jump over nickels to pick up pennies?” If additional reports are needed within a 12-month period from any of the three CRAs, the cost is extremely minimal compared to the potential savings that can be realized by an improved credit score, and if you run a credit report on yourself it will not affect your own score as an inquiry.
The underwriter who is making the decision as to whether or not you should get the loan you are asking for will generally look at the scores generated from all three CRAs. Typically, the score will not be the same from all three reports, and the underwriter will consider the middle score as a barometer.
Disputing Errors On the Credit Report
If you are in the process of reviewing your credit reports, the first thing to do is make sure that the information contained within the reports is correct. In June 2004, The U.S. Public Interest Research Group published the results of a survey it conducted involving 200 adults in 30 states to test the validity of credit reporting. Their findings were as follows:
• Twenty-five percent (25%) of the credit reports contained errors serious enough to result in the denial of credit;
• Seventy-nine percent (79%) of the credit reports contained mistakes of some kind;
• Fifty-four percent (54%) of the credit reports contained personal demographic information that was misspelled, long-outdated, belonged to a stranger, or was otherwise incorrect;
• Thirty percent (30%) of the credit reports contained credit accounts that had been closed by the consumer but incorrectly remained listed as open.

If you find that you have errors on your credit report, follow this procedure to correct those errors.
1. Make a copy of the report and circle the item(s) you are questioning. Keep your original copy for your own records.
2. Prepare a letter to the CRA that provided you with the report in question, and request to have the erroneous item(s) removed. If you have proof of payment for an item in question, include a copy of that documentation.
3. Prepare a letter to the creditor reporting the problem, especially if you feel you are a victim of fraud or identity theft. Inform the creditor that you are disputing an error reported to the CRA, state why the claim is inaccurate, and include any relevant documentation to prove your point.
4. Send your correspondence via certified mail.
You should receive a response from the CRA within 30 to 45 days. If the error has been corrected, they will send you a fresh copy of your credit report at no charge to show you that the item has been removed. They will also send a corrected report to any entity that received a report that contained errors within the last six months.
If you cannot have a disputed item removed, you have the right to include your side of the story on the credit report. Your statement should be a concise explanation (100 words or less) as to why you are challenging the item in question. From that point on, this notation will be included in your credit report as long as the item in question remains on your report.

Brad Sizemore and Kyle England hooked up together again except this time Coach Sizemore wasn't coaching England up. Kyle a current 1st basemen for Eastern Kentucky (former Indian stand out pitcher) and Sizemore a former player of EKU and Current Carlisle Varsity Baseball Coach displayed their skills against each other on Sunday Oct. 18 in the EKU alumni baseball game held at the refurbished Turkey Hughes Field.
The game was won by the current Colonels team 10-4 over the alumni team. Kyle went 1 for 2 at the plate and a stolen base while playing a new posistion of 1st base during the game. This was the first time Kyle has got a chance to play in a game since having succesful shoulder surgery last March. My name is Scott Boschert and I’m seeking to be elected to the 2nd Ward City Council seat in Carlisle. I am a lifelong resident of Carlisle and live just a few houses down from where I grew up. I have been married for 19 years to my wonderful wife Jessica and we have three children Shawn, Heather, and Tyler.
I graduated from Carlisle High School in 1981 and am a 1985 graduate of Heidelberg College, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Computer Science and Business Administration. I currently work for Warren County Commissioners as the Data Systems Supervisor leading the Public Safety Information Technology.
I believe, it is time for change on Carlisle Council and I have the desire and determination to serve on City Council and can’t wait for the opportunity. I have been attending and speaking on issues at most of the council meetings for over a year. I know what is happening at council meetings and I know the issues that the city faces and what issues the citizens are speaking about. I am asking for your votes on November 3rd that will give me the opportunity to affect change for the City of Carlisle and its citizens.
I have spent many years volunteering time to the City of Carlisle. Shortly after graduating from college, I joined the Carlisle Volunteer Fire Department serving for 14 years on the department and retiring as a Lieutenant in 2000. I am currently the Director/Coach of the Carlisle Youth Wrestling Program and have been active in this club since 1992. I was also involved in many of the team sports that my children joined as they grew up, such as, C.B.A. Baseball, Pee Wee Football, and SAY Soccer. I also recently spent time participating on the Fire Adhoc Committee, which was formed by City Council, and was comprised of Citizens and Council Members that met to discuss the future of Carlisle Fire Department.
Carlisle is a great place to live and to raise your children and I love living in this community. I ask you to vote for me on November 3rd because together we can make the City of Carlisle a better place to live and enjoy.
Scott Boschert

The Meet the Candidate Night at the Carlisle High School last evening was beneficial for everyone in attendance. The Carlisle High School Senior Government class hosted the event that included Mayor Tim Humphries, City Manager Sherry Callahan, and a host of council members and challengers, as well, as School Board Candidates.
Senior student Abby Hamilton did the introductions for the advance placement government class. The first to take the podium was current council member Dennis Bowles. Bowles is running against Chad Johnson to keep his seat for the At Large City council seat. Bowles discussed his accomplishments in his career and civic duties. He also discussed what the council as a whole has been able to accomplish in his time as City Council member.
The second candidate to take the podium was Bowles challenger, Chad Johnson. Chad discussed his past of growing up in Carlisle and how life has taken him around the world. He talked about wanting to raise his kids here in Carlisle and serving the City. He also had a word for the students that were in attendance by saying, "Don't think you can't make a difference, because you can."
Next to the podium was current Ward 1 and Deputy Mayor Mary Ann Thompson. She discussed serving Carlisle for the past 20 years. And discussed the many boards and committees she has served on in her time on council. She also talked about what the City Council group has been able to do collectively over the years for the City. Thompson is running against Bryan Green to keep her seat on City Council.
Unfortunately, Bryan Green was not able to attend the event. Green unexpectedly lost his mother this week and was spending time with his family. He did however send a note that Abby Hamilton read to the audience.
Ward 2 candidates Scott Boschert and Sharon Shelton both had their time at the podium. Boschert and Shelton are running for the spot left by Carrie Branson. Boschert spoke about being a life long resident of Carlisle. He has raised three children in the schools. Scott also served as one of the Carlisle Volunteer Firefighters for 14 years and retired as a Lieutenant in 2000.
Shelton spoke about her past of being a life long resident of Carlisle, as well. She has been a single mom who raised her son in Carlisle. She feels she is now at a time in her life that she can devote the time needed to serve the city. She would like to be a voice between the people and the city. She says, "She wants to make Carlisle a better place, although it's pretty darn good already." She also went on to say, "I have a lot to learn, but I am alway up to a challenge and I look forward to it."
Randy Winkler was up next for the Ward 3 City Council seat. Randy is a current council member who is being challenged by Rich Smith. Randy and his wife have lived in Carlisle their whole lives and have raised three boys in the school system. Randy goes on to say he is involved with every aspect of Carlisle and is asking to be re-elected to City Council on November 3rd.
The night then turned to the school board candidates. Tammy Lainhart gave a heartfelt speech about her commitment to the school system. Duane Patrick gave a quality informed speech about his time on the School Board. Bryan Dunkman talked about what he could add as a new school board member if elected. Finally, Joe Marinich gave a comical speech and about the time he has spent on the school board.
Candidates that were not able to make it were: City Council Candidates Bryan Green and Rich Smith. School Board Candidates Kevin Taylor, Bill Jewell, and David Clay.
In closing, we want to thank the Advanced Placement Government class for the opportunity they provided to the community by having this forum. It was truly informative and gave the residents of Carlisle the opportunity to gain knowledge about each candidate to make a wise and educated decision come November 3rd.
