Here are excerpts from the last City Council Meeting for 2009 on March 24th, 2009. The City is continually looking for ways to improve Carlisle. Provided in the meeting minutes below are some improvements that Council is looking at for 2009.

light improvement and additions. This will drastically, change the look and feel of our city streets. Since there was no capital improvements in 2008 this is a good step in improving the look and feel of Carlisle. The minutes did not provide where the street lights will be changed or added. But this is definitely a good change/addition to the streets!

AN ORDINANCE TO MAKE REAPPROPRIATION/SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS FOR CURRENT EXPRENSES AND OTHER EXPENDITURES FOR THE CITY OF CARLISLE, DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2009, AMENDMENT NUMBER 3, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
Discussion: $2,000 needed for the estimated cost of an expert witness for a court case regarding de-annexation. $2,000 needed for MDC’s unit for the police command vehicle (a portion of the money in the 2008 budget was put back in the reserves and not available for use during 2009 without approved re-appropriation. $15,500 for asphalt/road repair related to the replacement of sewer valves at Marty Lee and Jill. $2,500 is needed for software upgrades that are necessary for improved utility billing. Total appropriation request: $22,000.

AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING TO PROCEED WITH THE LIGHTING OF STREETS, LANES AND OTHER PUBLIC WAYS IN THE CITY OF CARLISLE, OHIO.
Discussion: This ordinance is on for the first reading and will be on for second reading at the next council meeting. This is the second step in the process.
AN ORDINANCE LEVYING SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS FOR LIGHTING OF THE STREETS, LANES AND OTHER PUBLIC WAYS IN THE CITY OF CARLISLE, OHIO WITH ELECTRIC LIGHTING.
Discussion: This ordinance is on for the first reading and will be on for second reading at the next council meeting. This is for recovering 75% of the cost of operating streetlights in the city and 100% of the capital investment in lighting. There were no capital improvements during the calendar year 2008. This is the final step in the process of assessing this item. This year’s assessment’s total $35,901.20.

1. The 125 x 125 (pictured above) banner ad is the most popular ad size currently in use on the Internet. 125 size banner ads will be placed in the top right corner position of each page on the site hyperlinked to your website. Ads in rotation with other 125 size sponsors are only $25 per month. Guaranteed placement ads are only $50 per month. To run on both Franklin and Carlisle Sites it would be $40 per month and $90 for guaranteed placement. 2. The 250x250 right rail banner ad is another popular ad size that will appear in the larger portion of the right rail. Ads will be placed in top right corner of each section of the Carlisle Daily. Ads in rotation with other 250 size sponsors are only $60 per month. Guaranteed placement ads are only $75 per month. To run on both Franklin and Carlisle Sites it would be $110 per month and $150 for guaranteed placement.

3. Leaderboard Ads 450 x 90 will appear on top of the site on all pages throughout. Leaderboard ads are $75 per month and will scroll randomly on all pages as the banner ads do. Businesses looking for guaranteed leaderboard placement on the main landing page will be $100 per month. To run on both Franklin and Carlisle Sites it would be $125 per month and $$175 for guaranteed placement. 4. If you would like to appear at the top of the page in one of our Full Page Sponsor where the Advertise Here logo is currently at the very top it would be $200 per month for the main home page and $150 per month for any secondary pages (Sports, Schools, ect). If you want to Full Page Sponsor on two sites it would be $350 per month for home pages and $275 per month for any secondary pages (Sports, Schools, ect.)

SAY Soccer will be holding sign-ups for ages 4 to 13 y/o girls and boys! SAY soccer is a fun and exciting time for your little children to get outside and learn the game. Last year, our Carlisle SAY Program sent over 6 teams to the area wide tournament and one team on to state! Season starts early August!
